Autumn Lash Cycle

▪️AUTUMN LASH SHED ▪️

Lash shred

Yes it’s that time of year! Your hair feels crap, your hair on your body might be slightly different, if you have a dog/cat they will be moulting, after all we are all animals and this time of year all our hair SHREDS, and unfortunately this means our beautiful eyelashes.

Why does this happen?

This time of year, the sun is disappearing which means less  vitamin D, which tells our body we don’t need our hair as much anymore, as our hair on our body is there to protect us from the sun! So that is the science behind it.

So your lashes might be falling out quicker, you might have large gaps. It’s not you, it’s not us, it’s not our glue or your lash techs glue. When your extension is falling out with the natural lash like the image above – there is nothing any of us can do.

You might want to bring your appointments slightly forward to they don’t get to gappy. In a month of so this will stop and will go back to normal, so don’t worry!

Lash techs, feel free to share to let your clients know ❤️

What a month for KG

What a crazy month it’s been, first of all we completed our first exhibition at the NEC BeautyUK show. Such a busy exciting weekend, it was so lovely to see so many of our customers and introducing ourselves to so many new customers/distributors and students.

We offered training at a local salon in Warwick which very quickly became fully booked. Katie and Jess taught Classic Individual Lashes and Russian Volume, which went down a storm with the local lash Tech to Warwick. We loved training everyone and can’t wait to see their exciting future in Eyelash extensions!
This month our training courses have been super busy, because of this we have introduced an exciting offer ! With every course booked not only do you receive your FREE training kit you also receive access to our online course worth over £340. With all of this knowledge in class and at home there is no reason why you shouldn’t succeed!

Courses take place at our flagship studio in Bedfordshire and now in Gloucestershire with our fantastic trainer Hayley Mountjoy at The Beauty Spot in Tetbury.

If you have any questions on training, please get in touch.

Wednesday Tip Of The Week

#Wednesdays Tip of the week.
Brush your lashes daily ❤️

After your appointment at KG we give you an aftercare bag. Within your bag, you get lash brushes. Brush your eyelashes daily. I do mine in the morning when I do the rest of my makeup.

Why brush your lashes?

Brushing your #lashes will keep them neat and uniformed. Your loose lashes will come away, don’t worry, it’s better than them on your face in the day 🙈

When your lashes fall out, your natural lash will be attached to the extension. This is due to your natural lash cycle which is every 90 days. The extension has not pulled your lash out prematurely so do not worry.

Enjoy your lashes ❤️

Patch testing

PLEASE ladies, never get eyelash extensions done anywhere without a patch test.Reactions are awful and can cause severe discomfort and even worse…. cause blindness. It is just not worth the risk. Even if you have had lashes for years and trying another salon or therapist, you still need to be patch tested with their glue.

That second patch test can really save a lot of hurt later on.

LASH TECHS: How do you patch test?

There are two ways of testing.

FIRST – BEHIND THE EAR. Why do I like this as my favourite way? Because it’s close to the eye, but not on the face. It touches the skin (which some don’t agree on) but a lash tech could easily drop a lash with glue on, so you need to know if allergic on the skin.

IF there was a reaction, at least it was behind the ear rather than on her eye.

Plus it’s quick and easy for therapist and client.

SECOND – APPLY LASHES – This is my least favourite as the glue doesn’t touch the skin. So what happens if you drop that lash on your client? Or your client moves suddenly and comes in contact with the glue? This patch test will not show up if allergic to the skin. It may show up if allergic to the fumes of the glue… but in a full set of lashes there will be many more fumes, so this is unlikely to show up a reaction.

Please note: patch tests are not 100% guaranteed and a reaction normally comes over a period of time once someone is having lashes ongoing.

So how do you patch test or what is your view?
